Family Acrididae
This page contains pictures and information about the Epallia Grasshoppers that we found in the
Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.
- Body length 40mm
-
- When we first saw this grasshopper, we thought it was the Slender Gumleaf Grasshopper.
Checked carefully we noticed that it had the flatten back then we
believed they are different species. We checked and found that it is
the Epallia Grasshopper.
-
-
- Both female and male of this species are fully winged.
-
-
-
- Also notice that there were the velvet
mites attached on its antenna and legs. Some reference suggested that
those mites attached to the grasshopper only for a free ride.
