FAMILY CHRYSOMELIDAE

Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Body length 10mm

- This Leaf Beetle look very similar to the I-Mark
Leaf Beetle. When look very carefully, we believe they are difference species. They may
just mimicking each other. Pictures
were taken in Alexandra Hill during early summer.

- The beetle is bright orange in colour with dark patterns.

- We also found the Leaf Beetle in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. It was on the new
shot of a young gum tree.

- The above pictures were taken in Karawatha Forest during October. The beetle was running away in the stem when we took its picture. The
beetle ran very fast. We looked
around and did not find any larvae or eggs on the plant.

- The above two pictures were taken in Karawatha Forest during December. We
always found this beetle wandering alone.

- This species looked very similar to the Paropsisterna 8-maculata
species which is only found in PNG. We believed they could be very
close related. Chris Reid
sent us email and confirmed the ID.
