Body length 8mm

 

We first saw this leaf beetle in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. It was resting on leaf of a young gum tree. 

 

  

 

The beetle has the very colour patterns on the wing covers, with red, black and white colours. When we came very close, it dropped onto the ground and disappeared. 

 

 

Then we saw this leaf beetle a few times on gum leaves.

The host plant

 

We found the beetle feeds on  very young gum tree with narrow leaves.
