Reddish Meadow Katydid - Conocephalus (Anisoptera) bilineatus

Male, short-winged form, body length 20mm

 

This katydid species adult may have long-winged and short-winged form.

 

 

This katydid is orange-red in colour. Its wings covered half of its abdomen. It was found in Wishart bushland in a early winter evening Jun 2004. 

 

 

We saw this katydid again in Ford Road Conservation on Feb 2010.
