- Beetles in this subfamily have elongated narrow body. They have long and
slender legs with combed tarsi.

- Aethyssius viridis, body length 20mm
- The beetle was resting on a tree trunk. It dropped onto the ground when we
came closely. We picked it up and took those pictures. It was in Karawatha

- Dark Green Comb-clawed Beetle

- Aethyssius cylindricus, (Anaxo cylindricus), body length 12mm
- Pictures were taken in Yimbun Park along Bulimba Creek on Oct 2007. The
beetle was black to dark green in colour, elongated and parallel-sided slender body and with
mouth parts expanded. The antennae were long and in filiform. Please

- We found this group of small beetle hiding under loose bark on a large gum
tree on Jan 2010 in Karawatha Forest. Please check this page

- Grey Comb-clawed Beetle

- ? Homotrysis sp., body length 20mm
- We found this beetle in Wishart Bushland on Sep 2010. It was resting on
a large gum tree trunk. The beetle is shiny black in colour with white to grey
striae on elytra (longitudinal lines on wing-cover). Please check this page
