Family Asilidae

- Body length 30mm, male

- The Robber Fly has the dense covering of microtrichia on wing membrane
which makes its wings look dusty. The insect is mainly orange brown in colour.
The eyes, thorax, tinted wings and all legs are orange-brown. The abdomen is
in copper-orange colour with black end tip. Those bristles on head and body
are white.

- This is a large Robber Fly and sometimes seen in Brisbane
bushlands.
