- This Longicorn Beetle mimics a wasp
(Eumeninae )
to gain protection.

- To mimic a wasp, it has the very short elytra (wing cover). There are the
orange-yellow bands on its abdomen.

- We found this beetle once in Ford Road Conservation Area on Feb 2011. It
was resting a grass stem. It was very slow moving. When disturbed, it warm up
its wings a bit and fly away.

- The beetle can be found feeding on flowers. Larvae related with Eucalyptus
and Leptospermum.
