- This is a Australian native beetle and became a major pest
of Eucalyptus plantations through out the world.

- We first found this beetle attracted by window light to our backyard in early summer. When we
search for information about this insect on the internet, we found this beetle is
very famous.

- Their larvae are the Eucalyptus wood borers which damage the
timber. As the Australia native Eucalyptus trees become
the major plants in plantations through out the world. This Common Eucalypt Longicorn
Beetle became the pest in wood plantation industry too.

- We sometimes found this beetle hiding under loose barks on Eucalyptus in
Karawatha Forest.

- The beetles lay eggs in cracks of
barks or under barks. Eggs are laid singly or in small batches. The larvae are Eucalyptus wood borers.
The life cycles are from two to three years.
