- The Metallea sp. can be distinguished by the strong setae on thorax,
the metallic reflections and the irregular white dusting.
This species has black hairs on yellowish-brown body. The head is mostly
yellow to orange-yellow in colour.

- From the reference information the Metallea species is associated
with termite mounds but not much is known about their life cycle
yet.
