This page contains information about Wattle Bizarre Lopper Moths that we found in
the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.
- Female, wingspan 30mm

- The
small caterpillar was found on a Acacia leaf during late summer. It
look bizarre, as it called. It also look like the other species of caterpillar Anisozyga metaspila, at first we thought they
may be the same species, although they are found on different food plants.

- Caterpillar
length 10mm

- We
brought the small caterpillar home and fed it with the Acacia leaves.
The caterpillar walk on leaves in a typical looper style.

- Caterpillar
length 25mm
Pupa, length 15mm

- About
two weeks later, the caterpillar grew up to 25mm. Then the
caterpillar turned into a pupa. It pupate among the leaves litters.

- About
10 days later, a beautiful little moth came out from the pupa.

- The
pictures show a female Bizarre Lopper Moth. It is green in
colour with brown wing edges. The male moth is green and
white in colour, look quit different from female.

- The
caterpillar can be found on difference species of Acacia and other
native plants include Syzygium, Eucalyptus .
