Family Bombyliidae

the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Body length 15mm
- This is a medium size brown stout beefly. Wing patterns are reddish-brown
which do not reach hide wing margin. Abdomen is yellowish-brown with grey
medially.

- Pictures taken in Karawatha Forest during early and mid summer. Found them
quite a few time in Rocky Circuit on the sandy footpath.

- This species is Ligyra sinuatifascia (Synonyms: L.
macraspis).
