Family Lygaeidae
- This page contains pictures and information about Yellow Stalk-eyed Bugs that we found in
the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Body length 8mm

- This medium size bug runs fast when disturbed. As the common name
suggested, the eyes carried on distinct stalks. It is black with yellow to
bright orange-red
background colour. The centre of head is black in colour. Its ocelli
slightly closer to each other than to eyes. Antennae and legs are black in
colour.

- We found the bugs in Yugarapul Park on Sep
2005, Sep 2007 and Nov 2008.

They were alway found on a climbing vine which the ID is yet to be identified.

- The about Stalk-eyed Bug was found on Jan
2011 in Karawatha Forest. The bug was orange and black in colours.
