Beautiful Ellipsidion - Ellipsidion bicolor

This page contains pictures and  information about the Beautiful Ellipsidion Bush Cockroaches that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Body length 18mm
 
This Ellipsidion Cockroach has a black pattern on its orange-brown wings. The edges of thorax and wings are clean see-though too.

Nymph 
 
Blattellid Cockroaches of the genera Ellipsidon look very similar. Their bright orange colours suggest membership in Muellerian mimicry complexes.
