FAMILY VESPIDAE

- Body length 15mm

- This is a medium size Paper Wasp. They are reddish brown in colour with
creamy-white face. The are the thin white rings on the shoulder, waist and
abdomen.

- They build single irregular disc form paper nest which is about 100mm in
diameter.

- We found a few nests in different locations in Carbrook Wetland on Mar
2011.

- This paper wasp is mostly red-brown in colour with white rings around
thorax and abdomen.
