DIPHLEBIIDAE - Azure Damselflies

This page contains information and pictures about Azure Damselflies in family Diphlebiidae that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

The Azure Damselflies are all in bright blue colour. They are large, thick body and rest with wings spread. Their wings usually have the large dark brown pattern. We found only one species in Brisbane area.

Diphlebia coerulescens, body length 50mm, male, male, female
Rockmaster Damselflies are also known as Dark Azure. They are large, thick body and rest with wings spread, much look like  the dragonflies. They have black head, black striped bright blue colour thorax, blue ringed black abdomen and blue light tail. Their anal appendages are black in colour. Their wings are dark brown with clear wings base. More information on this page
