Family Limacodidae
This page contains pictures and information about Wattle Cup Caterpillars and
Moths that we
found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Caterpillar 30mm
-
- We sometimes find this caterpillar on wattle leaves. The caterpillar is
bright yellow with blue green and orange colours. There are a number of
tubercles around its body.
-
-

-
- The moth is creamy brown in colour with lines of dots on forewings. We
had not found one yet.
-

- Length 10mm
-
- Above pictures were taken in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. We believe
this is the young version of this caterpillar.
-
- We had tried to rear this caterpillar once without success. The caterpillar
fully grew but with unknown problem on making the cup cocoon.
