- The common name Black Prince was loosely applied to almost any cicada
which were black in colour. Then it is now exclusively used for Psaltoda plaga.
The cicadas are black in colour with brown pronotal collar. They prefer main
stems instead of tree trunk. Nymphs feed on
roots of Eucalypts and many other native plants.

- Found the above cicada entangled in spider web in Karawatha Forest. It was
